A New Look and a New Era for Tolhurst Fisher
Welcome to the new Tolhurst Fisher website. Not only have we updated our online offering but we have also undertaken a re-design of our entire brand.
Senior Partner, Charles Latham explains why – “it became apparent to us some years ago that in order to sustain the firm in the longer term and assure proper succession for ourselves and our clients, we needed to invest in the next generation of lawyers. Since then we have been incredibly successful in attracting and retaining a growing number of talented solicitors. In turn, they have brought an injection of enthusiasm that continues to make a huge contribution to the success of Tolhurst Fisher.
Our previous branding had changed very little for a number of years and pre-dated the world wide web never mind the digital age that we now inhabit. This resulted in a drive from our younger fee earners to marry up our adoption of state of the art IT systems and our forward-looking firm with our branding. At the same time, we are proud of long-standing dedication to the needs of our clients. There are certainly elements of our heritage of which we are very proud and which we would wish to maintain.”
The re-branding exercise was led by Leasehold Property partner, Robert Plant. “I wanted to start with a fresh slate rather than try to just work on our previous branding” Robert says, “it has taken a huge effort from a number of our staff and fee earners to bring us to this point but I am really happy with the outcome. We are all excited about the firm’s future and about promoting what the firm can offer using our new branding”.
The work on the branding and design was undertaken by Fable&Co. Their Creative Director, Ross Davison set out the thinking behind the design –“the strategic rebrand for Tolhurst Fisher required a delicate balance; demonstrate the long-standing tradition and heritage associated with the brand, along with promoting the firm as a contemporary and forward-thinking firm.
The new logo was inspired by a traditional legal stamp. This acknowledged the long-standing heritage of legal tradition, portraying a sense of originality and trust.
The soft, calming colour palette used throughout the new brand identity complements the firm’s highly personal and down-to-earth approach, using grey to balance this with a strong sense of corporate professionalism and to emphasise the strong foundations and reliability of such an established business.
To reflect the new identity the website needed to provide users with a user-friendly, efficient and all round ‘human’ experience – avoiding legal jargon in favour of a more user-friendly tone.
We are extremely proud of the results achieved and we are honoured to have played a crucial role in delivering the rebrand and new website to the highest levels. Working alongside Tolhurst Fisher has been an absolute pleasure and the team at Fable&Co look forward to continuing to support this reputable brand for the future.”
