Case Studies
The bulk of Graeme’s work relates to the sale and purchase of private companies. One of his recent deals was widely reported in the media as it involved the sale of a well- known retail chain to a larger competitor.

Graeme has particular experience in s110 and capital reduction restructuring. Recent work in this area includes splitting a series of holding companies and their assets between different family shareholders. Graeme worked with a specialist tax adviser to ensure that the family achieved the separation of interests that they wanted without adverse tax or sdlt consequences.

In addition to his corporate practice, Graeme has worked in minerals and waste management deals for his whole career. As such, he has been involved with many of the quarry and landfill sites in Essex and surrounding counties over the years. One recently completed deal involves moving inert materials from a major infrastructure project down river to a specially constructed temporary facility. The materials are being deposited on two separate sites, one of which is owned by a major utility company.
