Nadia Stillwell

Associate Solicitor

Nadia is a disputes and employment lawyer who runs High Court and County Court cases from first instruction to enforcement. Her work covers contractual fall-outs, urgent interim relief, professional negligence, debt and recovery, property and probate disputes, and the disclosure and evidence issues that underpin them. She is methodical on case theory, disciplined on budgets and clear with clients about risk, outcome and timing.

Nadia’s career includes time at a top ten international law firm in London, where she was involved in complex, multi-party litigation, and an in-house role as an employment solicitor with the UK’s largest facilities management company, advising on investigations, employment tribunal claims and advising on complex employment issues. That blend of City training and in-house pragmatism shapes a tactical, commercial approach to litigation.

Her employment practice is litigation-centric. She acts in Tribunal claims and related civil-court proceedings where restrictive covenants, confidentiality and urgent relief are in issue, and she negotiates high-value settlements where that best protects clients’ interests.

Recent Work Highlights

  1. Building dispute
Acted for a property owner in a dispute over defective and delayed refurbishment works. Instructed independent experts, prepared a clear schedule of defects and quantum, and pushed for early mediation. Secured a settlement combining payment, remedial works and a timetable for completion, with costs protection for the client.
  2. Boundary dispute
Advised a homeowner in a long-running boundary disagreement following alleged encroachment. Worked with a chartered surveyor, analysed historical deeds, title plans and aerial imagery, and opened calibrated without prejudice discussions. Achieved an agreed plan and a formal deed recording the boundary, with a contribution to costs and no trial.
  3. Commercial debt strategy
Advises owner-managed and mid-market businesses on portfolio debt recovery and credit control. Implemented a structured pre-action process, triaged files by value and prospect, and combined robust correspondence, negotiated payment plans and targeted court proceedings with enforcement routes such as writs of control, third-party debt orders and charging orders. The approach has improved recovery rates and accelerated cash flow while containing legal spend.

Personal

Outside work Nadia enjoys spending weekends with her family and clay pigeon shooting, along with an enduring interest in good coffee and better books.
