Form updates for selling your house?
As of the 30th March 2026, the Law Society has implemented the new Property Information Form, 6th edition. This has been developed to make the form easier for sellers to complete and to also streamline the early stages of conveyancing transactions.
The wording of many of the questions within the form has been simplified to make it clearer to sellers what is being asked of them. There is also an increased number of questions where you can answer ‘not known’ although you should still review your responses carefully.
Alongside the new form, the Law Society has produced explanatory notes aimed at both buyers and sellers, designed to help you understand the purpose of the questions. If you are completing the Property Information Form yourself, or you are reviewing one which has been completed by your seller, you can read through the explanatory notes here https://www.lawsociety.org.uk/topics/property/ta6-6th-edition-explanatory-notes
