Case Studies
Laura acts for executors and administrators of estates which range in complexity and value. An estate Laura recently dealt with, worth in the region of £20m, consisted of assets held with numerous banks, investment companies and a large property portfolio. Laura made the necessary enquiries to establish the extent of the Estate and then filing the relevant papers with HMRC and the Probate Registry in order to obtain the Grant of Probate promptly. Laura then assisted the executors with collecting in the assets of the estate, taking instructions from beneficiaries regarding sale or transfer of assets and ensuring that all debts had been settled.

Once all matters had been concluded, Laura then assisted the executors with the distribution of the Estate in accordance with the terms of the will including drawing up a full set of estate accounts for the executors’ and beneficiaries’ consideration. Laura worked closely with the executors and beneficiaries of the estate throughout the administration to ensure that they were fully informed and involved.

Laura also advises her clients on a range of estate planning matters including making wills and establishing Lasting Powers of Attorney. Laura aims to fully understand her client’s needs and wishes in order that she can advise them effectively on the protection of assets both during their lifetime and on death.
